About Lost Boy

Lost Boy is a local, individually run design house based out of Portland, Oregon. All garments are personally handcrafted and designed by Peter. Established in 2017 in Peter’s birthplace Seattle, Washington. Lost Boy emerged from his apprenticeship, friendship and guidance from Jennifer Brown, owner of Under The Root.

The Body

As a young queer, before coming into adulthood, it was a journey to find the first pair of underwear I felt validated in. I refer back to that feeling and my hope is that Lost Boy will be a hand in that journey for others.

The Land

This hopefully counters the current industry that tries to forget us, sell us our own issues and the artifice of the “capitalized body.” The truth lies in us, we are all different. My intention is not to fit into the current industry, but to make a new industry based on our values. Lost boy speaks to absence of design for queers. Intimate garments should come from queer folks themselves, not from an industry that does not support them. My goal for Lost Boy is to take the power of the industry and to put it back in the hands of queer folk.

The Nature

There is a nature to Lost Boy. It’s quirky and weird and you aren’t going to get the same thing every time. Like the body, you are going to find differences in the fabrication process. Each Lost Boy piece is hand done. Opposing industry standards. Each Lost Boy piece is uniquely crafted. Sometimes you won’t get the same pattern or textile again and that is part of the relationship with your Lost Boy. You can refer to the fabrics page for upcycling process and material use.

The Collective Mind

Lost boy emerged through a personal journey of emotions and frustrations reformatted by creativity. It stems from issues with the gay communities obsessiveness of self image and self worth. This veil, a partition between self worth and self liberation, divides our natural way of being. Lost boy seeks to tug at this veil. This is about loving yourself. It is an underwear label for ‘you’ before it is for anyone else. Lost Boy is here to sculpt spaces and perspectives on the body not yet paved. Here we embrace the unknown of being on an independent journey; sculpting part of one's self and adapting to our environment through our own eyes and consciousness.

“Find the way to be unapologetically yourself.”

I say ‘boy’ because that is the language I use to describe my identity. However, fabric has no gender, so I encourage you to enter the world of Lost Boy without gender limitations. I am willing to work with all body types to fit their needs.
